Mrs Mateys started with a big leap and a big bit of courage.

 

In 2020, we dove headfirst into Mateys at the Esplanade — learning on the go, pouring our hearts into every coffee, every slice and every conversation.

 

What grew from that was more than just a café… it was a place filled with connection, laughter and community.

 

When it came time to pass the café on to our manager, it wasn’t the end, it was the beginning of something new.  We embraced one of Juliannes biggest loves — baking.

 

Now, Mrs Mateys is all about creating sweet treats that feel as good as they taste.

 

Think pretty cupcakes, comforting slices and cakes made with a soft, whimsical, feminine touch. The kind of treats that feel like they’ve been made just for you… or shared with a friend who knows exactly what you need.

 

From our little vintage-style van, we serve up not just desserts, but moments — warm, welcoming and full of love.

 

We’ve got big dreams for the future, but for now, we’re right where we want to be… baking, creating and sharing a little sweetness, one treat at a time.
